MCU-Coatings® for Marine application

MCU-Coatings offers you a unique designed technology to coat your entire ship without the restrictions and limitations of traditional coatings.
All products in the systems are of 1-component coatings that can be applied under cold and high moisture conditions and tolerant to hand-tool to abrasive and UHP preparations.
Either you need a coating for immersion, drinking water, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance or decorative, with only 4 of our coatings products you protect all these areas for an extreme long life-cycle. Make it easy for your Sea stocks for ALL your areas with 4 – 5 products and only 1 type of thinner. Modern paint technology can make the difference!

Ballast tanks

Cargo holds

We don’t offer you a full range of products for all different cargos. Only 1 system, with the choice out of 2 finish coats does the job… As simple as that! High flexibility, but extreme abrasive resistance, good clean-ability, good chemical resistance and food approved, makes this MCU-Coatings system a preferred long life coating for your Cargo Holds.

Cargo Tanks

Intrinsic in the properties of our MCU-Coatings products is a good chemical resistance. The same product used as intermediate, drinking water coating or internal finish coat is used for the Cargo tank Internals. Simple… Oil products and other liquids with a PH between 3 and 9 are tolerated when T° is ambient. For higher T° immersion or special chemical products, contact a MCU-Coatings representative. Potable water

MCU-Coatings provide a 1 component; easy to apply; drinking water approved coating that has a high barrier effect avoiding moisture or gas penetrations into the coatings film. Also MCU-Coatings has no formation of micro cracks, often found in 2 pack Epoxy. Due to the superior long-life flexibility of the coating when impacts or structural vibrations affects the coating, MCU-Coatings offers the most simple and durable system:

Decks, topsides and super structures

Weather elements wear coatings. This experience is even more harsh at sea, where in addition, UV, salts, heat or extreme cold and ice, test the coatings on their limits. Besides these ship decks are working platforms and subject to flexibility and temperature coefficient elongation as well as impact and abrasion… a major cause of pre-mature failures resulting in regular repainting. MCU-Coatings has proven again and again to solve the problem that couldn’t be solved by 2 pack Epoxy/Polyurethane coatings. It is a simple balance between, flexibility; surface hardness; adhesion and barrier effect what makes the perfect deck and outside coating. This balance is not possible in classic coatings but “is” in MCU-Coatings’ technology coatings line. When having good old coating that only needs to be over-coated, MCU-Coatings stick to all classic coatings. Even our Topcoats can go direct on top without the need of an adhesion primer as usually required by classic coatings. All colors are available in mat/medium or high gloss.

Underwater Hull

MCU-Coatings offers an extremely durable anticorrosive primer/intermediate system that will give a long life-cycle and protection. As natural being highly flexible and abrasive resistant, this coating system will protect your hull for impacts. Even when damage went trough the coating layers, our primer will prevent undercutting corrosion.
Our Intermediate can be over-coated with ALL actual standard Anti Fouling systems from any major producer.

Seastock

You cannot make it easier for “on-board” maintenance as with MCU-Coatings. The 20 to 30+ stocked traditional coating products can be replaced with 5 to 6 MCU-Coatings products and only 1 MCU-Thinner and you have your sea stock.
These 5 products offer excellent adhesion to clean Epoxy and PU systems without having to abrade. MCU-Coatings is a 1-component product… NO mixing of components and have NO pot-life limitation when handled well.
MCU-Coatings can be applied in cold, damp weather and fresh water cleaning before painting is not a problem anymore. As our primers sticks as glue on minor prepared surfaces, adhesion is superior compared to 2 pack Epoxies. We easily can go over St 2 or St 3. When fast completion and access traffic is required, MCU-Quickcure can be added at 5% in the coatings and over-coating can after 45 minutes.
No errors or headache anymore. Riding crew and on board maintenance is a natural for MCU-Coatings.
